24x36 Oil Painting CALL FOR AVAILABITY After the Civil War, beef was plentiful in Texas. The demand was strong in the North, the Eastern states, and the gold mines in Colorado. There were four major trails out of Texas to these markets. The Shawnee Trail to Missouri, The Chisholm Trail to Kansas, the Western Trail to Nebraska, and the Goodnight-Loving Trail to Colorado and Wyoming. These boys have sold their cattle, they’re headed home, and this is THE LAST CROSSING.
